Peer Review Process
All manuscripts submitted to INA Surveyors Journal undergo a rigorous double-blind peer review process to ensure the quality, originality, and scientific integrity of the published articles. In the double-blind system, both the identities of the authors and the reviewers are kept confidential throughout the review process.
The review workflow is as follows:
-
Initial Screening
The Editor-in-Chief or assigned editorial staff conducts an initial assessment of each submission to determine its relevance to the journal's scope, adherence to submission guidelines, and originality. Manuscripts failing to meet the journal’s criteria may be rejected without peer review. -
Reviewer Assignment
Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are assigned to at least two independent reviewers who are experts in the relevant subject area. Reviewers are carefully selected based on their academic credentials and absence of conflicts of interest. -
Evaluation Period
Reviewers are typically given 2 to 4 weeks to complete their review. They evaluate the manuscript based on the following criteria:-
Originality and novelty of the research
-
Soundness of methodology and data analysis
-
Clarity and structure of presentation
-
Relevance to the field of surveying and geospatial sciences
-
Scientific contribution and implications
-
-
Editorial Decision
Based on reviewers' reports, the editor may decide to:-
Accept the manuscript as is
-
Request minor or major revisions
-
Reject the manuscript
-
-
Revision and Resubmission
Authors are expected to revise their manuscript in response to reviewers’ comments and submit a point-by-point response letter. Revised manuscripts may be sent back to the original reviewers for re-evaluation. -
Final Decision and Publication
Once the manuscript is accepted, it proceeds to the production stage including copyediting, layout formatting, and proofreading. The final version is published online in the next available issue.
INA Surveyors Journal publishes three issues per year (March, July, and October). The journal follows ethical publishing standards in line with the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and is committed to ensuring a fair, unbiased, and timely review process.
