Analysis of the Suitability of Indicative Boundary Lines on the Geoservices Webmap using Grid-Based Control
Abstract
A single The rapid development of geospatial information access has enabled precise administrative boundary mapping through webmap geoservices. This study evaluates spatial conformity of indicative village/sub-district boundaries in Manado City using a grid-based spatial analysis approach. By comparing technically verified 2023 boundary data with 1:5,000 scale true orthophotos from 2024, we systematically assessed 228 grid segments (1 km² each) for alignment with natural features (rivers, watersheds) and artificial markers (roads, irrigation channels). Results reveal only 37.7% of grids align precisely with physical boundaries, with significant discrepancies in natural segments due to geomorphological changes. The grid-index method demonstrated effectiveness in identifying boundary shifts, supporting Indonesia's Ministerial Regulation No. 45/2016 on village boundary delineation. These findings emphasize the critical need for periodic boundary updates using advanced geospatial technologies to minimize administrative conflicts and enhance spatial planning accuracy.
